It simply isn't true that all white murders or disappearances get media hype. Nor is it true that no murders of people of color get attention.

When the Polly Klaus case was getting all that attention, I used to wonder what other parents of missing children felt about it -- that one girl had everyone up in arms, but no one cares about my kid? Or perhaps many were glad to NOT have media camped in their faces for weeks.

I don't know what it is about some cases that gets the media involved, and why other, similar cases are ignored.

Race seems to be one factor -- one of many, no doubt. Since whites are a majority, news folk probably assume that more people will identify with them than with those of other races.

Even though there are no laws separating blacks from whites, there will always be a separation.

Not to be racist, but a lot of times, black people are the murderers. Statistics show that although white murderers are very common, there are still more black ones.

My question is this:
Why are you asking a question when you obviously want to make a statement. That statement being that you feel there is raceism in the media, and you are unhappy.

Really what it comes down to is a matter of perception though. I have seen equal coverage for any race and gender. Perhaps if you see more white people it is becuase more white people are victimes. Or perhaps it is that the environment you live in colors the perception of all you see.

Seriously now. Are we really going to still cry racism? There is a all black channel, is there an all white channel? No. If we had one, we would be racist. Get over it dude. Freaking dumba**

Because murder is so common in the black community that it isn't news. Sad, but true.
