Because they have chosen to believe a certain set of so-called facts, and they are arguing based on their personal beliefs, without any apparent willingness to listen to contrary information.

In other words, they have formed an opinion, and aren't willing to revisit that regardless of how much evidence contradicts that opinion. It's called being a Decider.

We all do it to some extent. Most of us just choose to do it in more subjective areas such as what TV shows we like to watch or what religion we choose to follow. They do it with politics.

Global warming is not real. If you look at geological records, you can see that since the beginning of Earth there has always been a warming and cooling trend. The temperature will probably increase a little more over the next few years, and it will then begin to decrease, at which point the politicians will start complaining about global cooling and try to suck money out of the taxpayers for that too.

They're mindless puppets. That's all I can figure out. They keep claiming that they use facts in their posts, but a good majority I've seen was taken out of context or debunked. The only thing that they do post facts on are the 9/11 stuff.

President Bush and his advisors are fully aware of global warming and its dangers, ARE doing anything they CAN do to control it, and have been working on it right along. We have all seen and heard their calls for renewable fuels and expansion of wind power, and their tax incentives for consumers to buy more efficient furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters, windows, etc.

Meanwhile, we hear constant complaints from another quarter about tax incentives, and we all know the Senator from Massachusetts who doesn't want windmills "spoiling his view".

Because neither of them bothers with facts. Isn't it easier to just make baseless opinionated statements?

P.S. Your links will be dismissed as "liberal" media. Valiant effort though, I must say.
