Because when you have a country that is BASED on christian fundamentals, and when you have non-christian people running out local, state, and federal agencies, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?

Look around you...schools got no $$$, no $$$ for new roads, infrastructure crumbling, urban city decay, yet RECORD numbers in tax revenues generated?

Can you say CORRUPTION?

Excuse me, but the schools in Florida (and the rest of the country) get MORE than enough money to function properly. Your anger at the educational system should be aimed at the exorbitant administration costs as well as the costs of maintaining the teacher's union and the DOE.

$$$$ for roads is a LOCAL problem. Infrastructure is a LOCAL problem. And in Florida I don't see any urban city decay that is not a LOCAL problem.

I would suggest examining the issues rather than spouting off talking points.

You are completely ignorant of American history. I'll assume that you oppose the separation of church and state -- not because you want a state official showing up at your church to tell the pastor what his sermon will be on (which is also a consequence of your proposal) -- but because you want to see your religious views enacted into law so that your fellow-citizens will be forced to do what you think they should. Is that very Christian? (Judge not, etc.) Do you really think that's very American? (E PLURIBUS unum?) Didn't Jesus teach that one should "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's"? It seems that history is not the only subject you have neglected. If you study medieval history (when church and state were not separated), you will find evidence of real rampant corruption, in both church and state, as a consequence of mingling worldly and religious power. You should read something other than Bible stories once in a while.

And if you look at statistics, it is those states that report the highest percentages of self-described Christians that also report the highest rates of failed marriages, of domestic crime, of poor schools and failing test grades, public corruption, and the other evils that you wrongly think come from having a First Amendment.

The sizable Jewish population in Florida might beg to differ.

Actually the Republican party calls themselves "God's party" and they ARE running the country. Bush also says he is a born again believer.
