He's a chronic underachiever, on a team with a very tenous QB situation. He's lazy, doesn't block, and doesn't hit the hole with authority. Mangini is going to hate his guts.
I like what they did to bolster the O-line, but I think the Jets will be a RB-by-committee team, at least in the early going. Blaylock will get some carries, and it is not clear who will be the goal-line back yet.
Clear #1, not yet.

He is not the clear cut #1 in New York this year. Derrick Blaylock appears to be coming on strong, and will at least earn a share of the load.
Plus, Barlow has shown us that even as a clear cut #1 in San Francisco, he is not a solid fantasy RB.

Barlow is a very risky pick in NY, but risks are needed to win. If the Jets Offense is doing well, and Barlow stays healthy, he may get 1000 yards and around 8 TD's if he takes advatage of weaker defenses, but right now b/c of the risk, he is between a #2 and #3 back.

He is indeed the #1 running back out in New York. Houston and Blaylock have been awful this preseason and they have not been impressing coaches lately. However, I would not start Barlow for the first couple of weeks this season because of his inconsistency. If your'e in a 10 team league, I'd look to see if he was on waivers. He could be a solid backup.

I don't think anyone will get more than 15 touches per game with NYJ this year - though Balrow is the best of the bunch (Houston, Blaylock).
Probably 700-800 yards and 4-5 TD's. Not terrible if he's your 3rd or 4th back.
