I think that some people get caught up in the 'emotional spending' of the holiday season and get themselves into debt over it. What do you think?

I think it's ridiculous! I was in a Cracker Barrel restaurant over the weekend and Christmas stuff was everywhere! And Walgreens too. Hell, it's not even Labor Day yet! I think it's sickening.

The commercialization of Christmas went WAY overboard when the Christmas Sales rush was pushed back to start before Thanksgiving Holidays!

Unfortunately, the stores start their advertising now even before the halloween costumes are all purchased -- which is VERY sad indeed.

Yes, more every year. Christmas should be about family, friends, and the real reason we celebrate- THE BIRTH OF JESUS. Its not the amount we spend, but what the gift means, sharing and caring.

In this country, yes.
There is no doubt about it. As a matter of fact all festival are an excuse to buy things so you get something in return. It can be a gift or simply a sense of pride.
I got blah-blah-blah from my spouse.
My parents gave me more-blah-blah.

I agree 110%.The true meaning of Christmas has been forgotten.
Everything is about money, and how much a gift cost and run,
run, run.It is a very depressing time

I think you are right. I know for a fact that I have been caught up in that stuff myself. I have learned the hard way.

Agree 100%.
Only children should be
given gifts, and one at
that. That is why Thanksgiving
is my favorite holiday.
