I know about legal aide, but I'm currently disabled and need a divorce. I have no current income and Legal aide wants $1000 dollars. I have been away from this man for 6 years and in hiding because he tried to kill me and all, and would love a divorce.

We do have a child together. He is a registered offender though. I don't know if this will help me in getting full support.
His pic is online
Oh and $1000 is a lot of money when you have a child.
My parents live in low income can't borrow from them.

Contact your local legal affairs office and ask them for the name of an attorney that will do pro bono work. This means for free and most attorneys do a certain amount of "free" work every year. They should be able to help you. Get better and keep that chin up!! GaryT

I guess you need to find a way to earn $1000, that isn't that much money. I think over six years you could have found a way to save that even if it was just loose change.

You can do it on your own. if you have no kids or shared assets, it should be no problem. Just go to the court house and get the paper work. Do some research on the net to help you along.

well this girl I used to be friends with, her mom is still married to her second huband because she can't afford a divorce.she's been avoiding him so he can't find her and her daughters(youngest is his child) because he raped her first daughter at age 7.So it can be hard to get a divorce for some people who can't afford it.I wish you luck on getting a divorce.

You still have to find him to have him sign. You can get the papers on line, fill them out, file them in the county where you live. Cost..... $0.00
