Actually alot of my friends thought it was really boring....why did it stay at the top of the box office for so long??? I liked the first one but this one hardly had any comedy from Depp...I fell asleep halfway through!!

Sorry, julesrules, but I agree with omar, the movie was not as good as the first one. It seemed more like the set up for the third one which they had already shot. Depp's character did not stick to the original. It seemed like they were looking for something for us to laugh at by adding things that had nothing to do with the story line. (the fight on the water wheel) The only part of the movie that didn't seem forced was the last part when in walked Barbossa. It was a lot like the 2nd and 5th installments in the Star Wars films. Both of those could have been covered in about 30 of the 3rd and last movie.

I think the youngins kept it going. It wasn't AWFUL, kinda fun, too long. Won't be a repeat offender but I bet a lot of 13 year old boys will and you really can't expect them to have the best taste in movies.
Part 3 should be much better than 2 but not as good as 1 (read the script, worked on movies)

I fell asleep three quarters of the way into the first movie. I liked Johnny's Depp's performance, but the story was week and went on too long.
I've heard from co-workers that the second movie wasn't as good.
So, no, you are not the only person who thought so.

I LOVED IT!!!!!!! sure, it may not have been better than the first one, but then again, sequals usually aren't!!!!!!!!! and i thought it was a little long, but they just took like a 5 hour movie and cut it in half so that they could make the third one!!! i still thought it was really good for a sequal though!! i saw it twice already!!!!! the first time i saw it......i didn't like it, AT ALL...but when i saw it again, i LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! best movie of the year!!! i thought it was pretty funny overall though, johnny didn't have all the funniest parts, but it was still good!!

Pirates 2 was nothing special....it was hack-job. They already started making the 3rd one while they were making the 2nd....money making scheme here we come!!! They really should of slowed down and written a better script. 1st was a lot better. Depp were are the good movies???

I haven't seen it yet but I really enjoyed the first one. Sometimes we hype ourselves up to believe that the movie is going to be just as good as the first with the help of the previews. But keep in mind that the trailers only show the highlights.

I haven't seen the 2nd one, I saw the first one though - I think I'm the only one who didn't think it was very good! I mean, it was okay, I guess, but definitely overrated - just like Johnny Depp. I think I'm the only straight woman in the world who doesn't think he attractive in the least!
