I sure hope so. Check with your employment placement agency usually a job service office or a state run agency like commerce and labor. I hope it all works out and congrats to your hubby on the new job.

It's a perfectly good question. Your situation is not an easy one to resolve. However you do have options.

1. Work in the evenings so your husband's there for the kids.

2. Try and get work at a school as dinner lady or such like, this way you will get all the school holidays off.

3. Ask family and friends to help out until the children are older.

4. Agency work where you choose what hours you can work.

Your husband should take the job as you will be entitled to family credits would you not? And as he has been out of work for a long time he may never get another opportunity for a long time.

I hope things work out for the best and I hope that I have given you some food for thought. xx

Perhaps the only jobs availble in term time would be in a school, like a dinner lady or something, you could even get a job a couple of evening a week i used to do night sits for a home care company you just sleep or stay awake depending on needs at a elderly persons house and you leave by 7 or 8am in the morning ,they usually work this around the times that is convenient for the carer ,this could get you home in time for hubby to leave for work and home care companies are always short of staff for this work and the pay is good and hey how easy can a job get,I used to sit up watching tv all night. But other wise I think you will have big problems just to work term times only.

You could Job share.
Enrol with an Employment Agency & explain what times you can work. They will be able to put you in touch with employers that need someone part time & also help find the right job.

Why not, school secretaries, dinner ladies, teachers all work term time only depend what job you get. I have worked in a residential school for special needs people and we only worked termtime, but the hours are late evenings and weekends, I got all half term, all school hols which was nice.Childminding is also workable as you can look after your own as well as helping other mums by taking care of theirs especially durng school breaks.

The bigger and more public the employer, the more flexible they can be with part-time/term-time/job-sharing work.

Try places like your council, local schools, police, ambulance control rooms, leisure centres, garden centres etc.

I think the term-time jobs at schools are highly sought after by others like yourself and you don't say what type of work you want to do.

Good Luck.

Get a job in a school as a support worker.

I paid a minder before and after school, shiftwork.

Or work weekends if your husband is home then, or work evenings. Many have to.

why don't you try to find a catering job at a school or something and then you wouldn't be working whilst your children were off school any way, plus if it's the money, the government can pay for your children to go to a holiday club . that way your children wont get bored, and the government keeps you in work and they don't end up paying more to you through benefits. check it out x

you can both get a job and claim help from the government in order to do this in the form of many benefits, such as the children's tax credit. Go to your local DSS centre and get the details and find out from there if it will be more worth it.
