I often hear and repeat these phrases..be positive..please use your words..
hour of power talks of possibility thinking etc..so I wondered why we refer to all grownups as adults, when that implies adultery and sleazy behaviour.
Words I've heard are powerful, and adults seems so negative, like malicious gossip and depressed ravings.

Wow! You must hang around some depressing "adults!" Grown ups / adults...it's all the same to me. Just like ladies and women...however, there is a small difference between the two. Have a great day, man!

You make a very good point there. The use of the word 'adult' to mean bad things that nobody should be involved in has kind of made it something that not everybody wants to be. The word grown up does sound more respectable, does't it? Another word that is sometimes used is 'elders', though that is more relative it does imply someone who has some wisdom to share with those younger.

Words are powerful, indeed, and should be chosen very carefully.

I tell you why we don't call all of our parents grownups and refer to them as adults. Because not all adults are grownups! But all grownups are adults though.
i.e.
My dad was 65 and he was never grown up although he was an adult......ask my Mother!►Ļ☼Ļ◄
