Why are ppl making such a big deal about this hurricane coming to miami, fl if it does hit category one only?

People are going crazy in miami the gas is runnning out the food stores are packed i mean it might not even hit and if it does category one not that bad im 19 ive lived miami my whole life i went threw hurrican andrew but hurricane ernesto the one that's coming is not that bad so wats the big deal with every one wat do u think

People freaked out here in Pensacola yesterday because the last advisory they saw was the news Saturday night and then the paper Sunday morning. Those both still showed the advisory that had it coming to Pensacola area. When you've seen the devastation that has been caused by the last few hurricanes, I guess that might make you somewhat scared, worrisome, or cautious. The predictions are just that PREDICTION. These storms have been known to change direction just before landfall. I guess it is better to be prepared then not, but some do over react.

Because Miami people are ridiculous...My car always has gas and I alsways have water. They just want to go to the store and buy everything like its the end of the world. Self-made chaos...its uneccessary. stay indoors.

I haven't seent that much coverage actually. Not much more than typical stuff you see on weather channel. Certainly not the 24/7 stuff you saw with Katrina.....
