I went there. It all depends what you are going for. It is really expensive and not an accredited university so don't enroll if you think you might not finish your program, most of your credits won't transfer to another school.

As for most colleges you can get the same education at a community college.....same thing goes for the Art Institute unless you are going for something you are really passionate about forget about it....get your basics done at a community college and save ALOT of money doing so.

Also....most of the classes at AI are like four hours long.......its really annoying and they also are crazy about taking attendence. That part really bothered me because I mean come on....we are all adults and are paying money to be there so it should be up to us when we choose to go to class and not have our grade effected by it.

They also do try to suck every penny they can out of you ( as a lot of colleges do) and the people in the accounting and registration offices and what not I found to be real a*sholes.

Oh! And there is no summer break. There are quarters all year round and if you want to take one off they are real jerks about it and REALLY ENCOURAGE YOU NOT too....basically because they are worried you won't come back and they will lose your business. They care about the money...not you.

Whatever you do GOOD LUCK!!

It's expensive but I like it... Bachelor's "Graphic Design" here...

The instructors are usually very educated proffessionals who have alot of field experience...
They also have a 90% successful placement rate...

It IS fully accredited and has been for the last 5 years... all of my credits are fully transferable...

(also, as a side note to stickman's answer: I am the gay minority at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale... I only know 4 or 5 other gay people at my location... it's mostly white and latin straight women in fashion design - which seems different. And mostly black, straight men in Game Art and Animation) Graphic Design is very multi-cultural and so is Yacht and Marine design.
Culinary seems like mostly white straight guys...)
Not that it matters...

If you are looking for a degree in creative education, the Art Institutes are the leaders in the industry. If you would prefer an online education, they also offer that - www.aionline.edu. The key is the placement rate, which is excellent compared to other creative educators. If you want a good education that will lead to a solid career path, at least inquire and see if it is right for you.
