How likely could someone spy on someones internet activity? How do they do it. What are they spying on?

Hi, spyware comes in loads of different forms - as per the previous answer - at one extreme - someone can also monitor which keys you are pressing on your keyboard, which is one way of obtaining personal details, at the other end, are just simple applications which just monitor information about you for marketing purposes, however all of the above are without your consent.
