um. i would have to say no. While he has had some decent ideas (his social security reform plan wasn't bad.) he has done alot to alienate members of his own party, other countries and about 60% of the country. He is idealistic to a fault, and doesn't really seem to care about the ramifications of his actions. He once said in an interview that he doesn't take public opinion into account when making a decision... isn't that the point of a democracy? His stances on education loOK ok on paper, but don't really work in the real world. And don't even get me started on the war and his stance on civil liberties and human rights.

As a Republican, I feel he has done an awful job. His interest purely lies with corporate America instead with the hard working people of this country. He lacks many if not all of the leadership qualities a president should have...truthful, integrity, sense of responsibility..etc etc. He has done more to divide this nation than unite it. His in-congruency is staggering.
I apologize for even voting for him the first time.
Not only would I like to see him impeached but I would like to see him and his administration brought up on war crimes. If the conclusions of the Nuremberg trials were used today they would all be hanged. .
"One Nation, Under Surveillance" is what we have become.

I think it's perfectly valid to revisit a question like this once in a while. . . after all, people's opinions might change or grow depending on what's going on in the world at that moment.

Not my opinions, though; I pretty much have thought he sucks the whole time. Mostly because he embarrasses me for coming across like such an ignoramus (can anyone say "nu-kyu-ler"?).

Not to mention the fact that he terrifies me by calling the Constitution a "...g-d piece of paper."

And can someone PLEASE explain to me why so many people justify their support of him by saying "at least he doesn't back down" or some such. Why is it an admirable trait for one to refuse to admit he's made a mistake? My mama raised me better than that, and one would sure hope that his had, too.

But I guess not.

I wonder when people will realize that the president is just a figurehead. He just rubber stamps the wealthy business interest's who he truly represents. Why do you suppose 10 out of 10 business sectors supported him?
We can blame the president and that will only make his constituents happy.

Read the article below for more information on how this all works.

I think he could have been a decent president, but you listened to all the wrong people.

His Prescription drug policy is a joke. It was enacted to REDUCE the out of pocket costs for those on Medicare. Instead it has INCREASED the costs. My mom is on disability and on medicare, her month costs went from $27 a month, to $150 a month. I have yet to see a republican explain how that works.

His tax plan was actually responsible for extending the recession by 18 months and is responsible for 41% of our current national debt.

The list goes on and on, but I don't want to talk about the war.

And Shiraz is an idiot.

Bush has been terrible. Of course there was little he could do to prevent the attacks of 9/11 or Katrina, but his reactions to both show an amazing lack of empathy and a basic inadequecy that has cost thousands of lives. He is a buffoon.

No he hasn't. He's gotten us into a pre-emptive war in Iraq, our foreign policy is non-existent, vetoed stem cell research, tried to get a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, catering to fundamental Christians who want to get rid of the separation of church & state and many more....but I think one of the biggest beefs I have (besides Iraq) is his unwillingness to listen to ideas that may not coincide with his view points. Being close minded is not a good character trait for President of any country!!!

No. He ignored the warnings of the previous administration and his own administration about OBL, then he gave up catching OBL. On top of that, he raised my taxes, gas prices are outrageous, we're in a no-win situation in Iraq, and he's taken away some of my personal liberties.
