i like the really dark colored (espresso) wood furniture. Does anyone know where to find it cheaper than Crate and Barrel, or West Elm?

Have you tried Pier 1 Imports or Ikea? You can shop both online.

I agree, Ikea is good. So is Target, Restoration Hardware, Bob's Discount Furniture, Raymour and Flannigan. Kohl's has some little things.Got some cool espresso shelves at Linens n things, Bed and Bath has some stuff too. Sometimes a little pricey. The HGTV website may have some good resources.
I shop alot. Good luck.
