I don't know if these could be considered, but just to name a few of my preferred are;
Shame On You by Stevie Wonder
You Keep Me Hanging On by The Supremes
Creeque Alley by The Mamas and Papas
All I Wanna Do by Sheryl Crow
Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In by 5th Dimension
I usually listen to upbeat, songs, anything that will bring me out of what ever bad or negative state I'm experiencing at the time. I love life too much to allow anyone to bring me down like that. Therefore if they do manage it, shame of them, good for me, their loss, time to move on towards happiness. Thanks for asking hope my list comes in handy, and or the idea.

I have 2 albums that I recommend:
Sarah Mclachlan's Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and
Ani Difranco's Not a Pretty Girl have both gotten me through some hard break-ups.

Simon and Garfunkel songs help me grieve. A great one for your situation could be "I am a Rock." You can find it on their greatest hits album.
If you're pissed off and need some rock, Phantom Planet's self titled album is great! "1st Things 1st," "Big Brat," and "The Happy Ending" are some of my favorites. I like to get together with friends and scream the lyrics for a great release.
