im 38 weeks pregnant with my second daughter and i went to the doc on friday and he said im a centimeter dialated and soft (obviously the false alarms are paying off in one way or another) well since then the discharge (yes i know tmi but need help) has become thicker somewhat watery and developed a smell but not the smell of a yeast infection kinda like rotten fruit ick! and also i was having horrible menstral cramps this morning radiating in my back and lower abdomen they feel like they're kind of starting again i called the doc and they have yet to return my call my panties were soaked when i got in the bath a little while ago and i don't think it was all discharge because the soaked part felt like where water had been. what do you ladies think i appreciate your help in advance and i would appreciate as little smart *** remarks as possible because i really don't know what is going on or what to do thanks

if i were you, and i might as well be since i'm 38 wks too.....
i would head over the hospital to be on the safe side.
you could slowly be leaking your water and not realize it and chalk it up to discharge.

and, just so you know....it's not tmi. you gave us good details to go on, but unfortunately, i've been having changes in my discharge, but i don't have that "feeling"....it sounds like you have a "feeling" and therefore...go to the hospital.

worst case....they send you home. no harm, no foul. happens all the time!

You sound like you're in labor. The cramps sound like labor pains and it's possible you are leaking amniotic fluid. You might want to go to the hospital to make sure, I wouldn't wait for your doctor to call you back. Do you know how often the cramps are happening?

Ring emergency number where you are- 911 or 999 or whatever.

Better a false alarm than worrying or other consequences. Your doc sounds like a complacent jerk.

Good luck and all the best.

Let me know if it's a boy or a girl!

if the discharge was greenish in color ... the fetus might have feces inside of the amnioti sac, where the child excrimates while in the womb. This might cause a slight aspiration complication at birth ... just make sure the attending staff does some good airway suctioning when the baby is born.

If not greenish in color ... not sure what it is.

I would go to the hospital, it could be time. If nothing else you need to check on the smell, the discharge is normal at this time.

Go to labor and delivery at your hospital. If you are leaking fluid you need to be monitored.
