First I'm assuming you are asking a serious question and not being an asshole.

I am not going to jump on the band wagon of "there are rich black people". The truth is the majority of my people live at or below the poverty line. Check the U.S. census data. The keyword being most. Most does not mean "all" or "signifigant majority."

If we look at why most African Americans live at or below the poverty line, we cannot forget that America is a capitalist economy. In a capitalist economy the poor are needed as a motivator for the middle class. Additionally the poor are necessetity for the continuation of the manual labor industry. This is not to say that all blacks are good at is manual labor, or that all they will do is manual labor. I am saying that if you have a population that historically been forced/taught/brainwashed into believing that their role is that of manual labor (slavery, factories, present day service industries) , then you will inevitably create a permanent underclass. African Americans have experienced this and are just now starting to, as a total population, concieve of a role that is not manual or service based.

There are plent of poor whites!! There are plenty of rich blacks!!This is a very complicated question. I can only tell you why I grew up in the project. I grew up in New Orleans, my parents were never taught about getting a good education or that life could be so different outside of where we lived, they didnt have money for college and their lives were altogether kinda sad, the school systems were bad because they didnt believe the children could grow up to be anything anyway. You struggle to pay bills because you have a job that pays nothing no one will hire you as a result of stereotypes or past misfortune in your life, the job is so bad because you dropped out of school because everyday the teacher called you dumb or dirty or unteachable , this is only the surface there isn't enough time to really get into it . Girls dont have fathers so they turn to boys for "love" and end up with a child they struggle to raise because the boy goes to jail because he did the wrong thing to get money. It just goes on and on and on

Some white people may not live in the ghetto, however, living in a trailor is just as bad...

Not all Blacks live in poverty. It's mostly becuz of racism. They try to get a decent apartement or house and they can't cuz most of tha time they're lied to by others who pick up the phone and say it's been taken already. Have a Black and White person call and see which one gets the house first.

I have worked with many black people who live in $250.000 and drive a Lexus. They are doctors, lawyers, heads of businesses. Where have you been for the last 30 years?

While it is true that 'ghettos' tend to be predominately black, that's only because being predominately black is PART of our definition of what makes a ghetto.
