Not personally, but lycanthropy is (like vampirism) a recorded mental condition whereby the sufferer is convinced they are changing into an animal form (not just a wolf).

Here in Argentina we call it "Lobizón" [lo-bee-son]. My father tell me that my grandfather has an encounter with one of it, many years ago. It was just a big black dog; it went into the house and dissapeared. We have no ghost stories; that is the only supernatural one we have. Well, it maybe was a ghost dog (?). Who knows.
But years ago I was reading about such stories and they say that you can find it in old police folders. Before the police became skeptical, I guess.
In the past, "lobizones" were very popular in the country. The seventh male son became a lobizon if the President doesn act as a Godfather to him. I think that the fact of the silver bullet is known.
Well, thats all. Im just practicing my English.

I live in Trinidad in the caribbean. In our folk lore there is a character called a lagahoo or loupgaroo which in description is much the same as your lycnthrope. Instead in our folk tales which many still believe to be true the character is acctually a man who practices black magic and has the ability through his deal with the devil, to change into any animal he desires. mostly dogs and pigs. They can go out at night and there are acctually quite a few accounts of strange animals appearing in peoples houses at night and so on. if ever the lagahoo is injured in its animal form, the following day the man can be seen carrying the same injury as was inflicted upon the beast. A friend of mine once had an experience where he and his mother woke up to find a big grey dog had entered their house and was standing in there bedroom door. i swear i am not making this story up. Here in the caribbean these things are real. I once lived opposite a man who was believed to be a lagahoo. On one occasion my little cousin about 5 at the time looked out his bedroom window one night to see this very same man peering in the window at him despite the fact that his bedroom was on the 3rd floor of the appartment building. the fear he felt caused the colour to rain out of his face and his lips turned white. My mother always spoke about hearing the lagahoo draging his chains up and down the yard after midnight and hearing a sound like scales scratching against the bedroom window. I noticed that everytime i saw this man in his human form and i started to pray he would start to walk around in circles and get down on all fours and crawl. We thought he would never die as he was very very old no one is sure how old. but a few years ago he died no one knows how.

No but it would be very interesting in a life endangering sort of way.
Something I wonder about now and then is: IF werewolves were real and a female one gave birth would she have a baby or a cub?

I had a boyfriend once who was generally quite weird anyway, one night and the lights were down low I swear he grew pointy ears and his teeth got longer. And such a wolflike grin!

No because there is no such thing as a werewolf, and it is only wolves, as Lycos is the greek word it comes from, meaning wolf
