Can I put a mysql database in a normal directory folder on my server and still use this like a normal database

My server only allows me 3 mysql databases and I have one for oscommerce and one for coldfusion. But they are in directories only accessible from the control panel. Can I put a MySQL database in a normal directory folder.

I believe so, Just make sure when you code you make it point to those directories.
