Could you list any specific details as to why it should be a book for teens and over rather than children. For example is there any innuendo, language, etc.

I'm a teen, and I found it to be a great book. It did have a good deal of "mature" content, but honestly I didn't find it quite as racy as some of the books written specifically for young adults. And it's definitely not a fast or easy read, but for a teen who's interested in reading and who excels at reading, it is great. All my friends read it too, and everyone really enjoyed it.

And it's not like we're too young to grasp the concept, either. I was hooked immediately by the mystery and just wanted to keep reading. I had no trouble at all keeping up with everything that was happening.

Dan Brown's other books are also perfectly acceptable reads for teens and young adults. Why not, right?

Part of the problem teens have today is that people talk down to them and don't expect them to be able to do or understand much of anything.
Teens aren't oversized children and don't need to be mollycoddled. They are young adults and should be treated that way.
Yes, they should read Da Vinci Code and be encouraged to think about what they are reading. And encouraged to question it. That's what will help their mental growth more than telling them they are too young to read the book.
Okay, I'll hop down off my soap box....

Sure you can read the book, I found it hard to read and after 1/3 of the book I put it down and waited for the movie. Now that I saw the movie I picked it back up and found it way more interesting to read.

Yes, teens can certainly read and appreciate this book, as well as Dan Brown's others work.

Definitely. It's interesting and the language is not too tough, so a teen should be fine with it.

No, it's a book for fools who don't care about literary merit.

Well it wasn't written for teens, but it's not inappropriate, so teens could read it.
