You will need to first setup the wireless network, make sure the network cable from your modem (Cable, DSL) is plugged into the WAN port of the router. Then with a computer, log into 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 (It may vary) Log in with the defauly user and pass (supplied in your manual) and then go to wireless. Set the SSID to a name you will easily recongize (like pspwifi) then set it to no wep (open) then save, and restart the router. then on your pspselect a make a new netwoek connection, scan network and select your internet (pspwifi) then leave it at all default settings, and if the psp asks you for security (WEP) say no, and select key is automaticly given if ask. and thas it!

RE: Netgear Wireless Router WGR614v2
you are using WPA-PSK for security? According to Microsoft, in order to properly configure this type of security, which is part of the newest 802.11i specification, the firmware on the router must be compatible, the wireless adapter on your machines have to have the latest driver update in order to be compatible and the pc's themselves may need an update in order to use this new level of security. I am studying these new standards in my wirless admin. Certification training

Further to this I have noticed an interesting thing about installing
wireless cards in xp machines. They almost always work better if you DON'T install any of the manufacturer's software before installing the card - just make sure that you have a driver on the hard disc or somewhere ready for windows to read - i.e. not still in a zip file. In fact they almost always don't work at all if the manufacturer's software (which is supposed to help) is installed at all.
Go into your router web page and confirm the type of security settings you have. I.E.... "shared", "Open", etc.. These settings have to MATCH on your client machines as well. I ran into the same problem on the second setup that I did for a friend. I had inadvertently changed the setting on the router and did not have the same setting on the clients. The connection would work for one shot on the web and then the connection would drop. These are not extremely complicated setups but one wrong configuration could having you scratching your head for a
while. Give it a try and if it doesn't correct the problem drop me an
e-mail.

If you can connect to the internet from another computer, just not the Playstation, then you may need to setup Port Forwarding on the Netgear router and "open" the ports necessary for your games. See this article for details:

The recommendation thought is to configure both your router and your Playstation to use UPnP. You can read about that here:

http://kbserver.netgear.com/inquira/default.asp?ui_mode=answer&prior_transaction_id=820945&action_code=5&highlight_info=16777954,448,448&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fkbserver.netgear.com%2Fkb_web_files%2Fn100725.asp&answer_id=51673709#__highlight

Finally, you may need to configure your Playstation to use the same MTU size as the router is expecting. This specifies the size of the data it passes back and forth and they need to match. A typical setting is around 1500 for broadband connections.
