Ask the man and women who are fighting the war their opinion.
"Always motivated, and always dedicated to keep your a$$ safe, while all you seem to do is complain about us".
"People protesting the war at home are no different than the Iraqui's protesting it over there, the only difference is that they don't have the balls to be a suicide bomber and stand up for what they believe in".

I was a Marine for 8 years and my Father and and 3 uncle's were all Marines in Vietnam, my sister is in the Air force and her husband is in Iraq right now, and that is the reason I protest the War. It has nothing to do with supporting the troops it has to do with standing up for what I believe is right, and I believe this war is wrong and I will not support the President or any politician that is in favor of this Politicians war. I want to bring my brothers home and I don't buy that fight the terrorist over there so we don't have to fight them over her theory, I just don't buy it because when it comes down to it we have to fight terror from the inside out. I would like to bring you guys home and spend the billions of dollars on our home front security. I understand that it is hard to look at any other way then you are now and I would say the same as you most likely however I can look at this from military perspective as well as the civilian. I will never stop fighting for you because you will never stop fighting for me. Maybe one day we can see eye to eye, but today is not that day my friend. God Bless and good luck.

I totally agree with you. Besides the fact that people protest the war when they have no idea about the details of the war, they haven't researched the enemy, and they don't understand the military or politics. All they want to do is find an excuse to bash President Bush and the war is an easy one.
Now there are some people opposed who have done their homework who legitimately can give us reasons. It's the people who are clueless and can only throw insults that bug me.
Remember our troops! Whether for or against the war as they are our family, friends, and neighbors! Check out www.anysoldier.com and send a thank you letter.
***Oh and what really gets me are the ones who say they are sick of the war and want our troops home yet they haven't been deployed? So what are they sick of? Go figure?
People should realize that our soldiers follow orders. They don't get to pick and choose. Why would anyone not support them? There are lots serving that are for and lots that are against...but both truely love our nation.

I'm a little confused by the additional info behind your question but it is obvious you have served in either Iraq or Afghanistan or perhaps both and for that I thank you.
I believe that the war protests come from the "self righteous". Today it is very fashionable to take positions that show that you can be so "enlightened" as to even be able to admit that your government has flaws to.
Although the US has not been perfect that is for sure, their efforts have largely been to bring freedom and hope to a world that constantly sticks it's figer is it's eye.
This however is always the nature of the good leading the bad.
The just must fight justly while the evil are free to employ any tactic they choose.
You will know a tree by the fruit that it bears so thank you for fighting the good fight and don't get discouraged. There are still those in America that understand that evil must be confronted even if (God forbid) a liberal might accuse us of loving war or make any other number of stupid attempts to bring their country down.
There is a reason that liberals hang out in places where their ideas can not be challenged (tv, theaters etc) and conservatives hang in places where open dialogue is allowed (chat rooms, talk radio etc).
They are the ones speaking out against what your doing. They don't speak for me.

No pal it has nothing to do with you personally and you are not protecting anything of value in interest to the average American legal citizen! You are fighting a war for the World Corporate Ruling Class or the Oil wealthy like Saudi Arabian royal family who wanted Saddam out of business, We are against victimizing our young people for this cause! You can not look to your government for accurate justification!

did you realize I have in no way heard of this taking position type any of the WWII Vets. some were volunteers and some were drafted. maximum of them served with large honor. maximum of them envisioned to die for his or her united states of america. a similar united states of america we bash and make contact with dispassionate and ask for advantages from immediately yet would in no way serve. June 6, 1944 very nearly all the boys contained in the ecu Theater envisioned to die formerly the day became over. immediately we haven't any shame a majority thinks it really is owed a school preparation and a good paying interest for existence.

... so you don't believe we should have free speech?
THERE WILL NEVER BE A TIME WHEN EVERYONE AGREES... so you have to put up with the things you disagree with... because that's what makes America great...
those who you quote sound a little confused about what you're fighting for...
and not every soldier feels that way... it's illegal to disagree with the Army to outsiders I believe... if you are in the Army... so it's kind of hard to get a good idea of what they really believe...
calling other Americans "worse than suicide bombers" for exercising their rights IS TEN TIMES MORE UNAMERICAN THAN PROTESTING... if you ask me...

I have family who have fought to keep America safe - I know people who have died and everyday I feel a hole in my heart for all the children stuck in the middle who are getting killed. I protest because war is destructive and useless. Humans have been fighting for thousands of years - and who is safe because of it? How much better are we all for it? The last war humans fight will result in the destruction of us all - where is the safety and freedom in that?? I don't want to be safe if it means the destruction of a child's life.
And I'm not ignorant of the situation - I'm a political science major, thats all I've studied day in and day out for the last three years. The more I study about war, the more I'm convinced it's the self-destructive tendency of humanity.

I fail to see where being opposed to the war means that I don't support the military men and women who are risking their lives. I have the utmost respect for anyone currently in harm's way. I don't, however, support the war or most of George Bush's policies.

many reasons, someone in their family or their friends died in the war, the prices of oil are higher, and they care about the military they don't want them over there any longer than they need to be.
