Why do you love or hate the Maple Leafs?

I hate the Make Beliefs mainly because of Pal Hal and HNIC inflicting that dreck every single freakin' Saturday in the '80s and I live nowhere near the Easterm Time Zone let alone Leafyland.

Then the deifying of Doogie Gilmour (and to a lesser extent Wendy and Darr-lee Sittler) was annoying. Add to that a delusional fan base and announcers like Bob "Ottawa player passes to Ottawa player...am I expected to know non-Laffs?" Cole or any annoying guy from T.O. who goes on and on about Tie Dummy or Pat Boutette or some other non-entity on their freakin' team...aaaarrrgh!

Plus they are from Tarrana. Need I say more?

I love The Toronto Maple Leafs becuase they are the best team in the NHL. Sure they havent won in a while but they still have the second-most stanley cups ever and their fans never give up on them. They also have 17 Canadian players out of 28 which is the highest for any NHL team. They were the best team before the new NHL becuase they were a good hitting team, last year was their year of getting used to the new NHL. I love The Leafs becuase They ar the best

I use to hate them because they had Ed Belfour , Tie Domi and Pat Quinn, can't stand those guys. Now I don't have so much of a problem with the team as I do with the fans. The fans live in the past. The team has won 12 Stanley Cups sure--but how long ago was the last one? They are not the dynasty they use to be. Yes, their fans should stay loyal to them even though they no longer win but don't walk around bragging that your team is the best when they are not even close.

I like some of the players that have played for them but I hate the fact that they keep on doing terribly, it's been 40 years since they've won the cup.

They used to be a great team, with darryl sittler but these days they aren't as good. I still hope they do well because I live near them and it would be the 40th year since their last winning of the stanley cup and it is possible. Especially with peca to support Sundin and Raycroft.

I love them because I've been watching them for over 30 years. I can't really call myself a fan. I know that's weird.

Living in Buffalo we could always get Hockey Night in Canada and after so much exposure I could never hate them. I haven't been overly impressed the last few years, but hey---new season soon, some new players. Still a bit skeptical on your goal tending situation.

Not sure Quinn was your problem, but come October--we'll find out!

I don't hate them either, I am just disgusted with the way they play. I am a habs fan, husband leafs fan. But even he is getting to the point he changes the channel. They don't perform for the money the're getting, and I think leadership is also lacking.
Give me Darrell Sittler back lol.
But then I wanted Guy Lafleur. Shows my age doesn't it.

they are a wasted investment of time money and energy - they have not won the stanley cup since the 60's and always fall apart. They are losers and the people that beleive in them still are losers too. I have to listen to it because I live near toronto -can't wait until I move. They get so much money but can never win the stanley cup. All they get is penalties all the time

I dislike them because they think they are something special, when really they are no better than any other team, plus in the East im a Sens Fan, kick their *** all the time, except when it matters most (the playoffs) go figure, But im really a Flames fan, the east doesnt matter so much to me

The biggest reason is that I cheer for their rivals - the Habs and the Sens! And because the Leafs suck....haha.

HATE Them: It's always being a huge natural rivalry between Montreal and Toronto.
