Where I come from, the question is Whitelaw hotdogs or Newton hotdogs. Both are very small towns near Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Both towns have less than 500 people and have great butcher shops so you know the meat is fresh. They don't use fillers and they have skins on the hotdogs.

The way many cook them is to put them in water mixed with beer along with the bratwurst. That way they stay warm after you grill them and they don't dry out.

Pinkys Hotdogs - La Brea & Melrose in Los Angeles.

Not necessarily the best hotdog but certainly the most interesting. Chili cheese dog - has to be tried! Always a massive queue at any time of day or night to get one of these dogs.

Italian Hot Dogs at Dickee Dee's in Newark, NJ.

2 fried dogs with big chunks of baked, then fried potatoes- not french fries, fried onions and red & green peppers all jammed into a half pizza bread (kind of like a thick pita). Topped with mustard.

It sounds disgusting but believe me the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. And the older the oil, the better!

Well, here in the south...we like our hotdogs loaded. This means: ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, chili, slaw. Sometimes we throw some kraut on there too. Anyway, you better have a bib, fork, and lots of napkins b/c it'll be messy but very good.

I am really not a fan of Hot Dogs one bit, but the last time I was in Chicago at Navy Pier my BF got this HUGE hot dog with every possible thing on that you can imagine. It had pickles, nacho cheese, peppers, mayo, mustard, and some type of sprinkle. It sounds GROSS, but it was actually quite tasty. I know he spent 4 bucks on it.
