No, amazingly enough, we here in the great Southern wastelands actually have Internet access. All kidding aside, I'm not sure why you think there'd be a problem. As long as you have access to a computer you can get your e-mail.

Nope. Maintain your email provider in case its like DSL or cable modem service.
If you subscribe to a different provider when your down south you will have to access your email through a web browser.
I have comcast, and if I am visiting someone that does not have comcast, then I have to use their computer to get onto the comcast web site to access and respond to emails.
