i turn 18 in about 37 days (yes i am counting down) and i was wondering... do i HAVE to wait until then to get tattooed or would they let it slide if i went in a few days before my birthday (or even in a week or so from now)? and i dont want anyone saying "dont get a tattoo" because NO ONE on earth is going to change my mind. keep your opinions to yourself and help me out.

some of you (mostly the ones against tattoos) are not spelling the word TATTOO right. there are 3 T's!

I'm pretty sure theyre not going to let you get a tattoo before turning the big 18 (congratualtions though! you are soon old enough to go to jail!! lol. oh and buy cigarettes). Unless you go to the kick a** tattoo parlor(s) who dont really care.

BTW, what tattoo are you getting? Make sure it's hard core man! Somethign people will be like "danggggg that's some kick a** tattoo you gots there!" lol

I Live in Australia & here you can get it done a bit earlier at some places, but even then, they recommend that a person waits till they are 18.Because it is a big desision. It's up to you , but you might end up getting a dodgy by going somewhere that does do under age tats, and also end up with a bad job.Happy bithday to you though.Think hard about your decision,as I have 4, but did them after 18 & really got ones that just werent the rage, but because the artwork I chose really meant something to me personally & that I wouldn't regret later.I am a bit older than you now, & I love them as they have meaning to me.

You need to be 18, and not a day younger because then you are considered an adult under the law and can make your own decisions. May I suggest a nice tattoo for you would be the Presidential seal all across your chest.
Chow!!

well it sounds like you have hit the age of rebellion,it is pretty much of little value what others who may have more experience then you may say you are going to do what you want to do regardless. So telling you not to get a tatoo would be counter-productive at this point. However I do think you need to carefully weigh the pros and cons of getting a tatoo before you go ahead with it.I would wait the 37 days just to think about it.That isnt long at all.Have some patience.

You will have to wait, if you do not have parental approval. Tattoo parlors are licensed by the state, and can be put out of business for giving a tattoo to a minor without parental approval. You will need a parent present, and proof that the parent is your parent.
Suggest you just wait.

Would Ghandi change your mind? It'll depend on the tatoo parlor. The ones that won't unless your 18 will probable the cleaner and safer ones.

you will probably have to wait the full 37 days. the law isn't "18 give or take a month", it's 18 YEARS OLD... so they probably will not let you slide. unless you get it done at an illegal parlor in vegas or something but those are usually the ones that give you hepatitis. and happy bday!!

unfortunately you're going to have to wait untill you actually turn 18, unless you have a parent with you. The shops could get in trouble if they ink you while you're under age. My only advise is to be sure you get something you know you'll want to be there for the rest of your life. I got my first tat when I was 19 & I'm still in love with it

good luck!! & happy birthday :)

I do believe that you have to be 18, but like you said it's only 37 days. That's a little over one month, you can tough it out til then.
