I'm just working full-time and the company I work with has NO younger people for me to meet....there's nothing wrong with having older friends that are pretty much just aquaintences...but how do I make a REAL friend....like one that turns into a best friend? I don't go to college and most girls I meet, aren't that much like me and we have NOTHING in common and then that friendship will last about a week and never go further. I want a friend that is LIKE me and understands who I am and I understand whoi they are. I always see other girls that I know with a real close girlfriend they've had since childhood. I want a friend like that, but it seems whenever I meet a girl that I think is the "one" who will bcome my best friend, turns out that I don''t like her very much or she's not interested in a new "best-friend"..I'm starting to get upset and feel it's me, but honestly, I just want a cool friend who I hang out with a lot and do fun things together...where would I meet someone??

1. Join a gym... there will be other women there your age.

2. Go to church and work with a group of young adults.

3. Go to local seminars, speeches and concerts, and strike up a conversation with others.

4. In order to have a friend, you have to be friendly. Don't wait for others to meet you -- make a point of meeting them.

5. Don't rule out an older friend. The right older person will appreciate your friendship and may have a lot of useful experience to help with your life.

6. Get a job where younger people work.

7. Take a night class, either college or a craft (such as ceramics or decorating).

Good luck!

Talk to people. Seriously is is that easy. If you see people in the grocery store say hello, how are you. introduce yourself. Ask them where they work, oh really? how long have they worked there. I work here and like this how about you?

I have been in this area for 4 years, and have not until a month or two ago met a friend that descries what you are looking for. How did I met him? I said, "Hey hows it going? My name is Michael. God I sound so retarded when I say my name is Michael." And we talked a little bit every day after and became super close friends. I usually say my name with an ever so slightly odd emphasis, not one someone would notice until I actually mention it. just so I can say I sound restarted when I say my name.

Be friendly. Talk to people. Open up. You'll meet the friends you seek. If you need to, get a part time job dealing with the public. Customer service, or something of the like. Do volunteer work a few hours a week and make sure to introduce yourself to everyone there.

since you are trying to find a friend who has something in common with you, you need to start searching or hanging around people who share the same interests as you.

think of some hobbies, things that really interests you. whether it be arts & crafts, yoga (any type of exercise), animals, gardening, volunteering, dancing, church, shopping, etc. whatever it may be... find community listings that offer these types of things. you are bound to find others who share the same interests. why not take a class at a community college (if you're not planning on getting a degree, just take something that perks your curiousity, like a foreign language class or ceramics, etc.). there are many other 20 yr olds in school right now, once you start hanging around them you'll have a better chance of making a few new girlfriends.

it is great to know you can call your BF your best friend, but it is a wise idea to truly have a girl-best-friend aside from him.

Go to a club. They're full of women. And what are you looking for? A friend or a girlfriend (with sex!) It seems like the latter.
