Go to the USPS website:

https://dunsapp.usps.gov/HoldMail.jsp

I've done it twice, worked perfectly.

are you talking about regular (snail) mail? or email?

If regular mail, then your local post-office. Get one of those yellow cards at any post office, and you fill it out by hand to tell the post office to hold your mail until you get back. You can do this online at

https://dunsapp.usps.gov/HoldMail.jsp

but I haven't tried it yet.

If email, then just put your settings on "vacation" It doesn't hold your mail, but tells your senders that you are away.
