You don't say what model, but on a Turbo max plus 824e/828e
the code S53 = delay mode due to lack of water in system

has yours got the gauge inside that runs from 0 to 3 bar,
check this is up to about 1 1/2 bar

If not, find the cold water inlet valve on the boiler and let some more water in watching this gauge rise to about 1 1/2 bar.
This should get you some hot water for now, but best to get it serviced and find the cause of the problem.

Best of luck.

BTW the "S" codes are the status codes, and the "F" codes are the fault codes

S.53 Delay mode due to lack of water in system
S.54 Low water-level waiting period.
F.23 Water level low, Temperature rises too fast

No need to open your wallet. The boiler is just low on pressure. Top the pressure up using the filling loop.

5.6 Filling the heating system

• Partially open the filling valve and allow water to enter
the system. Starting with the lowest radiator, open the
radiator air release until water (clear of bubbles) is
emitted.

• Repeat this at all radiators until the complete system
is full, all air locks have been cleared and the boiler
pressure gauge reads 1.5 bar. Release any air from the
pump by slackening the centre screw.

• The boiler is equipped with an automatic air release
valve. To allow this to vent the boiler, the cap on the
top must be slackened by 1 – 2 turns. (This cap must
be left slackened during boiler operation to ensure any
residual air or system gases are released).

• Check the heating system and boiler connections are
sound.
