Crime. If it's on a canvas or some medium other than private buildings and public property, it can be called art.

i think its Art
no matter if its on a canvas
or public place
no matter what happens graffiti is still gonna be here
its been here sense the b.c's
the culture isn't dangerous or anything
different races work together 2 do art
pretty soon graff is gonna be limited
and not illegal because its always gonna happen.
(and for the graffiti hatting person below me
i do do graffiti on canvas
and i get paid to do murals
in the past i did trains
and back then i was in the paper
4 the whole trains i did!
but now im doing it legal
so dont judge me cause i do graffiti)

Crime or not, gang or latrina graffiti in my part of town it's a $1000 reward for each idiot caught tagging and for $1000 I will call the cops on taggers.
If you dont tag the outside of your house you shouldnt tag anyone else's property.

In my opinion graffiti is a great form of art but should be limited as to where it is and what it says. A sculpter isn't allowed to carve up public property and some things should not be available to all audiences.I don't know the difference between the two types.

All forms of graffiti art is a crime. Beauty doesn't make it legal. The artist are defacing property without the permission of property owners. I believe some of the artist are talented but still criminals.

Art becomes graffitti when its displayed on an unauthorized area. You see wall graffitti on overpasses and bridges. Those graffitti artists may very well be talented, but the fact that they'd rather deface property than properly display their art somewhere, it affects a person's general perception of the whole thing. Some graffitti artists are enlisted to create their stuff on certain places like subway stations and park murals, even though the finished product looks a lot like graffitti, it then becomes art.

Defacing property is a crime

graffiti might be a lot of things but all i care is what he people that do it care. i dont give a fu*ck what other people think about it . i, myself think that it is a form of expression and art. some kids do it just to bomb and hit up the city but fu*ck that you got to know the history and everything about it. its not just about the wrting(only part of it)The outsiders of graffiti think it's a crime, some think it's a hobby or art, but fu*ck them they don't know sh*it. Graffiti is like a virus, once it gets inside you, it might never leave you. I'm a graffiti artist myself and i try to learn as much as i can about other artist and the history of it. Wanna know my name or see some art i've done hit me up in an email.

Yes, depending on the graffiti. (If it's just "Call Mike for a good time", it's a crime. If it's brightly colored and creatively don, it's art.)

graffiti is a crime...next time you paint graffiti on a wall..don't forget to sign it.. put your real name on it..and see if you get arrested...that's what gets me ,they call themselves graffiti artist but they never signed their real name ,what does that tell you...if it was art they put it on canvas or some other kind of movable surface..

well it depends on where it is put. if it is on public property it is a crime. and if it's just on a piece of paper, or a mural. then it's art.

my best friend had to pay $2,000 in damages when he did graffiti in his neighborhood gazebo and welcome sign. so that way is a crime. not art.

hope this helps. i guess.
