The default settings, with respect to a computer, are the initial parameter settings for any piece of hardware or software when a system is started or new software is installed.

"Default Settings" try to emulate the "Best Case Environment" for general system usage.

"Default Settings" define issues like where the software is stored,
how hardware is connected, where files are stored, security, performance, communication between objects (Hardware and Software), man-machine interfaces, system resource usage, and so much more.

Have fun but be safe.
