I think it symbolises all that is wrong with religion! How many Catholics are living in poverty? What was that about a rich man and the eye of a needle? Didn't the pope read it?

I don't really care. As a Catholic and as a human being. What do you think about other religious groups riches. The Catholic church has been through enough scrutiny.

I think they should sell the jewels and crap and use it to cure AIDS or something. The Michelangelos, Titians, Donatellos etc. are national treasures which should belong to the Italian government. I think it is absolutely the epitome of hypocrisy that and organization which encourages humanitarianism should be one of the richest institutions in the world.

umm....god WANTS them to have the money right? look at the mormon church, they're worth over 25 billion. WHY? don't tell me it's all for the purposes of spreading the religion and erecting churches and all that. That's not what it's for.

please don't even get me started. in a nutshell, i think that the whole religion is based upon blackmailing the concience of it's "flock".

so i geuss you could say that they are ill begotten funds which the church hordes, instead of passing it around to help like they should be...
