people are hoodwinked by the media, aka, the messenger. somehow we are lulled into believing whatever they say on t.v., and so whenever anyone goes on t.v. and says "dick cheney had nothing to do with outing valerie plame" or whatever, the majority just sucks it in as truth. and then, of course, the majority seems to watch foxnews who are like the puppets for the current administration ventriloquists.
i wish children would be educated to bring DISBELIEF to everything they watch on t.v. and in the media. they would then have to question it and use their own critical mind to put the pieces together and draw their own conclusions.
we have a representative democracy, which means that we entrust our government to make decisions on our behalf. we elect them, and then if we feel that they don't represent us well, we wait until the next election and vote for someone else. people do still stage real protests that have an impact (like the boston tea party), but now those people are usually associated with hippies and anarchism, which is not looked upon well. this is a flaw in representative democracy, i think. there is no strong recourse for the people to say "enough is enough" when the government is taking advantage of their power and acting against the will of the people it represents. sure there's impeachment, but that can only be used in really extreme cases. and the supreme court, which should also be a check for the system is just not as unbiased as it should be, although it definitely helps.

True, but they would be arrested as terrorists under the Patriot Act. Ironic isn't it? Besides, one of the hallmarks of a good hoodwinking is that most people don't realize they've been had. This is a democracy, you don't have to fool everyone; just a little more than half, or close enough to fudge in an election.

You are absolutely correct. People now dont have the guts to do anything about it. They had rather sit behind a computer and play keyboard commando. The people that protested in Maine have my utmost respect. They at least had the courage to do it!!!!!!!!

We don't ALLOW it. We don't have any choice. Ellections are won and lost based on emotional but meaningless "issues" such as prayer in school, abortion, gay rights. Real issues like whether the U.S. starts a war, supports Israel, legalizes drugs never are discussed.

We already have terrorists,who advise us damage getting into the country. even as a drug smuggler enters u . s . of america illegally they'll shoot,run down,kill every person who tries to detain them and flee back into Mexico.Human smugglers even as stuck through the police will bail out the motorized vehicle/truck and enable it flow the position it is going to with out a motive force. Human smugglers are kidnapping and conserving human beings for ransom . those terrorists are purely not using planes into homes, yet they have destroyed extra lives to pursue their criminal interest.
