Yes, it is true. During ultrasound, we can see the fetal bladder get larger as it fills with urine. Then we will see it virtually disappear as the baby urinates. Very occasionally, we can catch it with a color feature. We use a color doppler function to look at blood vessels. It shows motion, blood is moving, so we can see the vessels. Well, when a baby releases its urine, if we can get the color turned on right at the genitals, we can see a swish of color as the urine flows out of the bladder. It is kinda cool to see! If the baby's bladder is obstructed, the amnionic fluid levels within the uterus will be low.

"...amniotic fluid is the clear, yellowish liquid that surrounds the unborn baby. It is contained in the amniotic sac. The fluid consists mostly of fetal urine that bathes the developing fetus. The fetus floats in this fluid, which is warmed to the mother’s body temperature. Amniotic fluid is continually being swallowed and "inhaled" and replaced through being "exhaled", as well as being urinated by the baby. Not terribly tasteful to us in more ways than one."

"By the end of six months, the fetus can move around, sleep, wake, kick, hear, and urinate into the amniotic fluid."

Yes it swallows the fluid and pees too. It has been seen in so many ultrasounds. So the amniotic fluid is made up partly of baby pee but its sterile. Babies also have short in and out breathing movements. They usually do not poop into the amniotic fluid unless something has stressed them so much that they moved their bowel and that is not good because the poop can get into their lungs before birth and if not suctioned properly when the head emerges and the shoulders and chest is still in moms vagina. That poop in the lungs can cause a lot of problem, occasional death.

No the baby does not fill the womans bladder all that the baby does in with in the uterus.

yes. the bladder fills and releases. i don't know what happens to the urine. but in the last week of my pregnancy they did an ultrasound and thought the bladder was maybe a tumor. they waited for a while, we waited for a while (hearts in our throats the whole time) then the spot all of a sudden got smaller.

everyone sighed with relief. so did the baby, for that matter.

Not exactly, sometimes you hear of a baby swallowing meconium? That is the baby's waste.

me·co·ni·um (m-kn-m) n.
A dark green fecal material that accumulates in the fetal intestines and is discharged at or near the time of birth.

yeah, a baby urinates. it makes up part of the amniotic fluid, which he then proceeds to drink. i know it sounds gross, but sometimes, that's how nature is. in fact, it's quite a big problem if he doesn't do either. could mean he has, or could lead to malformations. hope this helps!

Yes, the baby has to just like everyone else. If the unborn child does not you and the baby could become very sick.

Yes. It goes into the amniotic fluid and is sterile. Yes, they also drink it. Amniotic fluid is recycled by the placenta, along with the urine.

No, the babies waste is sent through the umbilical cord to the mother's body and her body disposes of it. It only uses it's own body when it's close to being born.

Yes, that is the reason women have to use the bathroom so often because the baby is filling the women's bladder also.
