I'm a Dad of 3 boys who have made it as far as 23, 21, and 20. I'm also a part time DJ with equipment. When I truly want to get them up, I play the first 45 seconds of Pink Floyd's "Time" running at about 6 thru a 1000 watt Crown Amp and two 18" Black Widow 350w Bass boxes with a 10" horn for mid-range and high notes. If they don't open their doors and demonstrate that they are vertical, I then segue into Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries", crank the Peavey's to about an 8, and wait a minute or two.

If the lazy slugs aren't up after the helicopter's have assaulted the beach (an obscure reference...who will follow that thread??) it's Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" where the Cannon's are rocking and you can hear the bells of the Great Cathedral of St. Petersburg.....jacked to a 10 on the Crown.

Pisses my wife off that I do it so loud but them boys ARE UP!!!!

What currently works for me is Nikkfur by A La Menthe.
Its the music in the part of Ocean's Twelve, where the super thief dodges all the laser security using acrobatics. Can't not move to that.

This will wake you up:

Move the alarm away from your bed
Set the alarm on an annoying radio station (like country or rap)
When the alarm goes off, you will have to get up and turn off that awful crap.
Now that you are up, out of bed, and thoroughly disturbed, down a Red Bull.
If you are not awake at this point, you might as well be dead!

If you are a heavy sleeper that just has a difficult time hearing anything around you, try something that jars you like:
- "Wake Up" by Rage Against the Machine or
- "Bartender" by HED pe

If you are like me and are addicted to the snooze bar, try something that slowly wakes you up like:
- "One" by Metallica
- "Ride of the Valkyries" - Wagner

Lastly, if you need something so absolutely annoying that you can't wait to turn it off, play anything Polka as loud as possible , but place your alarm radio across the room.

CLEVER SLEAZOID by Dir en Grey ~ it's sooo aggresive and angry...mind you, CHILD PREY by the same band is also really aggresive!

However you could listen to Dive to Blue by L'arc en Ciel, coz it's so upbeat!
