My 1990 maxima has an oem flex hose leading into the exhaust manifold. the flex part of it ripped open in one of the flexes. What I am wondering is if I pull the whole exhaust off and take the flex hose out and replace it with a non flex exhaust pipe if it will just snap from the movement from the engine or if i try to patch and plate it will it just start leaking again from the movement restriction. A new y exhaust flex is going to run about 120.00 and i cant see putting that much money into it. I need to get another year out of it. Any thought with the exception of replacing it

You can try to repair it with a muffler bandage. This is a flexible metallic material that is held in place with clamps and could solve the problem. Another suggestion id to see if you can get the part used from a junkyard.
