Im reading the bluest eye and I dont know what the theme or message of this book is. HELP ME plz!

I would say self image- How one view themself. She honestly thought her self worth would improve and she will be "beautiful" or thought of as beautiful if she had blue eyes. Poor child didn't realize she couldn't make herself get blue eyes. She just wanted to matter. Her background explains why she just wanted normalcy (or what is considered normal).

I think one can see how our childhood can shape our lives or self image.
