I was told by my Doc. that sleeping on ur stomach when pregnant is more harmful to YOU than the baby. The baby is protected by that sac of fluid. But your ribs, lungs, stomach and heart aren't. You'll be more prone to indigestion, heart burn nausea, heart murmurs, and impeded breathing by laying on your stomach. There are stomach rings that you can order online or get at some maternity stores that you place under your stomach at night. It encircles your stomach and arches your back and butt so you are kinda arched like you would be if you weren't pregnant but layed on a big pillow on your stomach.

Yes... it can be very harmful to your unborn baby. There is a pillow that can be found at BED, BATH, & BEYOND that is used for pregnant women... it's placed under your belly when you sleep on your side. It's to help you from moving onto your stomach too much and it is actually very helpful for both you and your baby. If you would like to... you can just use a regular pillow (try to stay away from the ones with feathers in them). Hope this helps. Good luck!!

It is much better to lay on your left side, but when you are asleep its very difficult to control what you do. Training takes time. I was doing the same thing with my 2nd pregnancy, thought not sure how on earth I could have found that posistion more comfortable lol. I ended up either using my husband to keep me from rolling onto my stomach or a body pillow. They do have the 'wedge', which is a wedge pillow designed to fit under the side of your belly to keep you from rolling.
However, this obviously is not going to prevent you from rolling. Your body is needing a comfortable space. Try using a body pillow. It gives you something to sling your leg onto in a semi sideways/ on your stomach posistion, that doesn't flatten your stomach. It supports your belly and therefore keeps baby from getting squashed. Plus, laying on your left side increases blood flow to baby, and has the added effect of preventing heartburn, which can be a horrible thing at night. Laying on your right side actually is not a bad thing, since its still on your side, however, your chances for heartburn are majorly increased, as your stomach is not in the center of your body, but actually located more towards the left side of your body.
But in short answer to your question, yes it is harmfull. Remember, she doesn't have any room in your stomach to play around, and its only going to get smaller. The bonus however, is that once you really get that huge belly, you won't be able to sleep on it.
Good luck, try a body pillow! ;)

yes, you're not supposed to sleep on your stomach. Put pillows around you so you don't roll over in your sleep. Poor thing is kicking because she's uncomfortable.
