use leaf springs from a truck and a steel cable instead of the usual bendy wood and rope. also make the rest of it out of metal so it can withstand the force. you should get a 30-50% increase in range, depending on whether you use hormel hams or deli hams. for high voltage electricity you can use a 220v generator and some solid copper wire. im not sure why youd want it high voltage if its going to be a seige engine, but whatever floats your boat. as for the sprinkler, you can get one thats on a pole from the home depot and duct tape it to your ham-a-pult.
