It's cold, but I'm sure that's no surprise. Sometimes there's an early snow, but mostly it's just cold. Depending on where you're from, if you plan to be in Boston in November, just dress appropriately.
Dress for temperatures in like the teens.

About as bad as it gets. Boston has a lousy climate for all but about 10 months of the year. November is dark, grey, and rainy. It gets dark about 4 or so in the afternoon. The typical day would be about 48 with a stiff wind and not much sunshine. Probably rains every other day also. Unless you are from Ireland, you will probably hate the climate. The only place worse in November is around the GReat lakes.

I was born and raised about 20 West of Boston.
Maybe I'm just used to the weather but it's not as bad as the answers you've gotten. Yes, it can be cold, especially mid to late Nov. but my birthday is Nov. 7th and I only remember one snow storm on that day. Yes it gets darker earlier on the East coast and some days you need to drive with lights on at rush hour- 5pm.and in the morning before 8. But then again, I live in Ohio now and it's the same thing here.
Temperatures have been anywhere from high 60's (unusual) to mid 30's. It's definitely a jacket or coat situation.

It's pretty cold, but not that bad. Depends on what you are used to. Average temps during the day are in the upper 30's and low 40's. At night is bad though, in the low 20's. Wind chill can be brutal...a couple nights last late November was -8 with wind chill!
Snow is common, but not blizzards. Rain is common in early November, and it turns to ice overnight.
I don't find it bleak though. I like the cold!

Here's a link to weather.com's list of average daily temps for Boston:
http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/daily/USMA0046?climoMonth=11
Keep in mind that these are averages, and New England weather usually deviates pretty far from average (like today, where our high was about 15 degrees lower than normal!).

Yeah, its cold. But please, the first few answers are exaggeration. It's about 30s and 40s. I don't even think we reach 20's in November yet.
The brutal months in Boston are January and February esp Feb.

Probably pretty darn cold. My mother grew up in that part of the country, and the Northeast usually has an extensive winter. If you are planning a visit, I'd definitely pack some winter clothing.
