If i get an emulator, can i play a ps2 game on my PC?

If i get a ps2 emulator, then stick a ps2 game into my disk drive can i play ps2 games??

in theory, yes. however, most emulators for anything newer than the N64 dont work very well, mostly because the game companies put multiple locks on their disks in order to prevent piracy. while it is definitely possible, you may be searching for a good emulator for quite some time.
