Why does Dell Computers buys computer component from other firm?

because dell dont really make any of the parts, they just build them from the parts supplied by other companies since the machine is branded Dell.. but that parts inside are not dell's
eg they would be a combo of companies, like seagate, kingston, western digital etc.

well dell computer as u know offers the customer the option to set up their own computer configuration and if a company manufactures so many different parts they's have to have a factory as big as the us .so it becomes more sensible to buy parts in bulk from other firm and jus assemble it together.

it is not only dell or computer industry which do that
automobile,airplane industry also do that
it is impossible to build everything on your own
so they get tailor made component from other manufacturer
they would tell them the design and manufaturer will produce that component
toyota has started to have these problem too
they buy component from other manufaturers thats why some of the components have bad quality

no one company in the world makes a comp. totaly, 4 almost all computer, the processor would b intel or AMD.Some others provide the supporting motherboards.and like that.

It would be way too expesive to make you own Montiors and Grafic cards and mother boards.

so what they do is have other people build the componets and they put it together in a computer, but with there buying power they gets things cheap, and they can make it so that things are put on to the mother board making it cheaper for the cousmer

All the computer manufacturers do. No matter which brand, if you open any computer they´re pretty much the same on the inside.
