I was on the Depo-provera injection for three months and had to stop because I bled for one of those three months straight. Now after a month my period has not dome back fully, I still bleed slightly one day in one out. What causes it and what should I do? I should mention I have endometrial and Poly cystic ovary syndrome...

I am currently taking Depo-Provera right now, and I was told that after you get off it that it is possible for your period to not return for up to 10weeks after that. I have not had any problems with this particular form of BC, I have tried everything else and nothing worked for me except the Depo, ironically and it was the BC that I heard the most negative things about. Just tell your doctor and I am sure she can recommend a different BC, I realize that after taking so many different BC pills and hearing other peoples stories, that everyone is different, unfortunately its like an experiment process to find the right one for you but I am sure you will. The Depo made me stop having my period completely. I was on Yasmine before that, and Yasmine made me have old blood.

I was on the shot too and I bled for 7 months straight. It took a whole year for my body to return to normal. I heard a number of women have some problems with there menstrual cycle. My incident was only after one shot.

Alot of people come to me complaining about having been on this shot. It seems to wreck havoc on the body. I personally don't think it is natural to not have a regular period. I explain to my patients that if they are going on this shot to talk to other women and find out what their experiences were on this shot. I am not saying that it has the same effect on everyone. But I advise as do my allopathic counterparts not to take the shot. If you need to be on the BC get on the pill.
