I dont know do you think it is correct to ask a killer to pay for and bury the people they kill? If they murder a man with children should the killer marry the widow and take responsibility for the children? Is it right to ask the robber to pay the victims bills as they can not pay them? Is it correct to ask you to think before you ask questions???

No, it's not correct because the rapist violated the victim. It's a different story if the victim's mind changes and forgives the rapist then marries the rapist.

previously in India as a measure of compromise the elder people suggested the rapist to marry the victim. but now days, due to awareness created by feminists, the victims refuse to marry a rapist and fighting for a punishment to the rapist.as the rape is defined[as a sexual act, it is primarily an expression of violence, anger or power. it victims can be male or female, very young or old, rich, poor, mentally retarded, disabled.rapists or of two types one type are hard core criminals, they generally do commit gang rapes another type are who suffer from some sort of psychoses due to the traumatic experiences they had in their child hood. as in the both cases, the rapists are not normal human beings i feel suggestion of marriage between rapist and victim is not a rational thinking and it is only an act to save the rapist from being punished.

The damage that would cause to the victim would be indescribable. In many cases rape victims spend the rest of their lives trying to forge that it even happened. The day to day nightmare of living through that would be totally destructive. If the rape occurred as part of kidnapping, of sorts, then the victim could develop a syndrome (i forget the name) in which they begin to sympathize with the attacker. This is even sometimes mistaken for a type of love, this brings about the question of needing a different type of therapy to understand that it isn't okay to be the victim, and that each person is their own, not the property of another.

No, it is correct to have him arrested by the police. He will do it again to others because he is mentally ill and dangerous. Why would you want the victim to marry a rapist?

Actually, this is often the way marriages were 'arranged' in less enlightened times.

"In tracing the origins of marriage customs, we find that marriage has evolved through three general stages: marriage by force or capture, marriage by purchase or contract, and marriage by mutual love. ...

Marriage by force or capture goes back to primitive culture when tribal groups were routinely hostile to each other. At that time marriages were "consummated" as the groom captured a desirable woman in the process of conquering and pillaging a rival tribe. The custom of having a "best man" in attendance at the wedding is a holdover from the days in which the grooms best man served as a fellow-warrior. When a man sought to capture a woman from another tribe, he would often bring along his "best" man to assist him in the ensuing battle, thus helping the bridegroom capture and carry away the bride-to-be.

In better times and if tribes were on good terms, women could be exchanged easily; if not, they were simply abducted and raped (in Latin, "rape" means "to carry off".)

The maid of honor and bride’s maids , on the other hand, were the women who helped the bride get away from her protective family and from other suitors so that she could be captured by the groom she wanted.

When such quaint methods of getting the bride and groom together faded in popularity, the honor rules survived."

Good night, NO!!!!

Would you suggest that a woman let her mugger balance her checkbook? Or the person who murdered her child babysit the other?

Why should a rapist have more opportunities to hurt a woman and keep her from healing?!

Of course not. That will only make the victim re-live the rape everyday.
