I was called by a manager today at the Gap to schedule an interview and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what to wear and how to go about pay negotiation (if I get the job). I have never worked at a store before so any advice from someone who has worked at a Gap or another store like it would be helpful! Thanks.

Over dress for the interview. You want to look like you want the job. Do not look casual, even though they may dress that way in the store. I would wear a skirt suit with a button down shirt. Don't ask about pay until they offer you the job, or unless they ask. It depend on where you work as to what their base pay is, if live in a big city it is probably going to be higher than if not, it depends on the cost of living in your area.

Good luck with your interview!

I guess I would wear something similar to what you would see at their store. ie.e.Trousers, blouse, pumps or skirt, sweater ,flats
just look professsional
I think they can wear jeans, but I am told you should dress up one level for the job you're interviewing for.

Good luck! p.s. I don't think retail is negotiable - but I am not sure what position you're applying for or if you have experience.

If you have experience, that is the negotiatiing factor because they usually offer starting salary - no experience.

wear Gap clothes lol =). maybe a pair of jeans and a dressy top. you know something casual but professional looking. usually they say the salary you're gonna get but you could name your salary range before they tell you your salary.

try dressy casual. maybe a print skirt, with a solid top, and low heels.

cleavage doesn't normally go over well..
