to recover something from the recycle bin once it's already been emptied???? please tell me it's possible :-(

If it was deleted recently then you have a chance to recover it. Download System Mechanic 6 Professional from http://www.iolo.com . You can try it for free for 30 days. Use "Search and Recover" included with System Mechanic to recover the file. You will only be able to recover it if the file was deleted recently and you did not add any new file after deleting it.

When you delete something, the file is still there. The only difference is that the header to the file has been corrupted so you can't see it and so you can write over it. If it has not been written over (you would not know for sure in this case, until you try to find it) you can get the file back through a number of programs readily available on the net. Previous posters have noted some that you can use or you could search for yourself (anything I'd share here would be just as easily found on the net).

it is possible, but not by you. there are some computer experts out there that have the tools to look at your hard drive and recover files. i dont know where you would look for them, but I know they exist out there.
