you know in alot of new southern rap songs they talk about getting drunk on "purple drink" like in paul wall, slim thug, mike jones and people like that,,they always talk about "purple drink" ....
for some reason i think its cough syrup, but i know they mix it with something else,,something 'medical' sounding..do u know what i mean??

ok..ok..its cough syrup mixed with sprite...its also refered to as syzurp...it was made in texas and used by the artists in texas ...it puts them in the mood to make screwed and chopped music...the mayne ingridient is codiene...and thats what makes u all messed up and see things slow and double vision...then u fall in a deep sleep..that sleep is dangerous becuz u barley r breathing..so u can die..thats how DJ screw..(the inventor of screwed music) died...RIP DJ screw!!!..mis u!...th last dude is wrong!!!..it is codeine!!...mia is wrong 2!!!...mane these ppl dont know anything!!!...seriously!!!

The "PURPLE DRINK" is basicly cough syrup and its also known as " sizzurp" three 6 mafia came out with the song "sippin on sum sizzurp, sip, sip on sum sip,sippin on sum sizzurp"(sounds hot chopped and screwed) but thats basicly wat is is. as for where it came from who knows as far as did dj screw die from it No he died from a heart attack

I always thought it was Robotussin that was used because one of the ingredients in that medicine when taken in large doses in a short amount of time can cause hallucinations. It's not codiene. It is called dextromethorphan or DMX.
