Contact legal aid........Either look in the phone book or call your local welfare office and ask if they have the number.
That is how I got my divorce was through legal aid and it did not cost me anything.
They also helped me with my court orders for child support.
They base what you are charged by your income.

Kim, hi, I am from SC also. I do not believe that we have any free legal aid available here anymore.......at least not in my town. I don't know what part you are from, but, my best advice would be to go to your local courthouse to the clerk of court and talk to them about it. They should be able to help you with it. Now, on the visitation issue, you are probably going to have to hire a lawyer according to the problem. If you want to email me with some more details, I will be happy to ask my lawyer any questions for you. Just so you know, I have been through a divorce and I have kids so I am pretty up to date on what has to go on with this kind of thing.....just need some more details.......good luck and email me if you want.

You need to visit the local IV-D office in your county. It is a federal law that the IV-D office offer assistance in child support. If you or your children recieve medicaid or food stamps there is no charge and if you do not recieve assistance from the state you live in the charge is $25.00. Again this is a federal law. The IV-D office is located at the procecuters office. They can not refuse to help you, as they are obligated to.
You can also visit www.aces.org . This is a non profit organization that helps mothers that are owed child support.
If you need any further help please contact me at my yahoo anwers page and I will help direct you where you need to go.
Best of luck. Mindy

nothing worth having including legal advice is not free. Your local child support offices could possibly help you.
I would suggest quit looking for the FREE...and concentrate on a good Family Law lawyer to help you with your dilema. You'll find the dudes in the FREE suits are exactly worth what you paid them...FREE $$$$$ inadequate lawyering...you'll find they don't give a rats tail.

You should be able to go to Friend of The Court and they will take care of visitation and child support and they charge the person that has to pay not the payee.
