I am partial to OBX. It is absolutely beautiful. Cape Cod is nice as well. I think OBX would be cheaper though. I am not saying that it is cheap, just cheaper than Cape Cod. Either way, you will have a great vacation...

I would pick the Outer Banks. It is less crowded and more laid back. If I wanted to visit the coast of New England I would go to Maine. Also, it depends on what you enjoy. I would drive down the Outer Banks and take the ferry back to the mainland. Stop in Swan Quarter for lunch. I had a soft shell crab there once. My Dad described it as a giant spider sandwich.

Outer Banks - it is less crowded and the beaches are beautiful.
