don't let anyone lie to you...labor HURTS! Not sure about preemies, but I went thru 27 hours of labor with my daughter, and it was no picnic. Labor feels like horrendous menstrual cramps that come and go, closer to each other as the baby nears.
Sometimes you can get contractions with no pain, feels like tightening of your uterus. If you get those, lie down, drink a few glasses of water, and count them. They are really uncomfortable but don't hurt at first. If you get more than 5 in an hour, call your OB!
Labor is different for all women, so you will not necessarily be in hell when you have your baby, GOOD LUCK!

no one can tell u how bad it's gonna hurt! Every woman is different! I tolerate well to pain so labor wasnt bad for me, my sis n law, cant handle pain at all, wow...she was yelling on the top of her lungs..lol...
I mean some people will tell ya it's gonna hurt like hell, while others of us will say it's not bad! Dont be scared cause once it's all done and said, the pain wont even be a memory, especially when u hear and see ur baby for the first time!
good luck hope all goes well
and congrats!

labor is not that bad and neither is delivery....it hurts but you won't remember the pain. chances are that if you don't have enough room, your doctor will either induce you or do a c-section when it's time....and I don't know why he says you won't have enough room because baby will make room...trust me....at 4ft10in tall, I carried to 39wks and had a 7lb 9oz healthy baby...I was induced because the baby was too big for me to walk anymore! lol.....don't freak and your doctor is an excellent source for info....

preterm labor can feel different than regular labor or you might not feel anything at all for a while during preterm labor......
i felt my preterm labor with my first preemie in my back...and i had a tiny little bit of spotting.... went to the doctor and i was in labor... they gave me medicine to stop it....and then i was sent home on bedrest....
the second preterm labor...i wasn't feeling a thing...but they checked me for contractions (at about 22 or 24 weeks) at a routine doctors visit... they gave me the same pills to stop my labor and put me on bedrest...... luckily the pills held the baby off until full term that time...
so i have really only had one preemie...and he had a hole in his lungs...and he had apnea....and he was in NICU for 2 weeks....
when i took him home he was on an apnea monitor until he was about 15 months old i believe....
